How much does a police officer earn in the UK?

Police salary depends on rank, experience, location, allowances, and working hours. A new constable starts at around £31,497 (plus allowances), while a top-rate Sergeant earns £53,943.

How is part-time police pay calculated?

Part-time police pay is calculated on a pro-rata basis using contracted weekly hours. For example, working 20 hours (0.5 FTE) means you receive 50% of the full-time gross salary and allowances.

Does this calculator include overtime?

Are allowances included?
