Questions

How often will you email me?

Only when there is news worth telling you, such as a pay offer, a confirmed award, back pay dates or a pension increase. There is no fixed schedule, and some months there will be nothing.

Is it free?

Yes. The updates are free. Some emails mention our calculators and paid reports where they are relevant, but you never have to buy anything to stay on the list.

Where do the facts come from?

From the official sources: the Police Staff Council and the unions for staff pay, Home Office statements and the Police Remuneration Review Body for officer pay, and the scheme rules for pensions. We link the source in every update.

Are you part of a police force, the Federation or a union?

No. Police Pay is independent. We are not affiliated with any force, the Police Federation, UNISON, GMB or Unite. If you need advice on your own case, speak to your Federation rep or union.

Can I change my topics or unsubscribe?

Yes. Every email has a 'Choose what we email you about' link where you can tick or untick topics, for example moving from joining to serving, or adding pensions as you get near retirement. You can unsubscribe from everything there too. If you have a Police Pay account, the same settings are in your account under Settings.
