How is the League Table calculated?
From anonymous reviews submitted by signed-in users and checked before publishing. Each force's score is the average across management, morale and 'would recommend' ratings from its approved reviews. A force only appears in the ranked table once it has 5 or more reviews — below that, it shows in 'Building the table' with a progress count instead of a score nobody could yet trust.
Why is pay excluded from the score?
Pay is set nationally by the Police Remuneration Review Body for every force alike, so 'officers feel underpaid' is close to universal sentiment regardless of which force someone serves in. Including it would mostly measure national mood rather than anything a specific force actually controls — so it's tracked separately in each review, but left out of the comparative score.
Can a force or anyone else remove a review they don't like?
No. Every review is moderated once, before publishing, to check it's a genuine, on-topic account rather than spam or something that could identify an individual. It is not re-reviewed afterwards because someone dislikes what it says. There's no mechanism for a force to request removal of an accurate review.
Is this table ever manually adjusted?
No. It's computed live, from real Firestore data, every time the page loads. There's no hand-editing of rankings, and no force can pay or ask to be moved.
