Police Scotland
Police Scotland is the single national force for the whole of Scotland, formed in 2013 from the merger of eight regional forces. It operates under Scots law with its own pay negotiating body, separate from England and Wales.

Police Scotland officer pay is agreed through the Police Negotiating Board for Scotland, separately from England and Wales. From April 2026 a new constable starts on £34,001, rising to £54,597 after 11 years. Our Police Scotland pay scales guide has every rank.
