In short

The BTP Selection Pack is PolicePay's own practice for BTP's bespoke selection process, built only on what BTP publishes about each stage. It is not BTP's material and your practice scores do not predict your result. Try the four free scenarios below first: they show your own score by the five things BTP says its SJT measures.

How the Pack Maps to BTP's Stages

BTP calls its process "bespoke": scores from other forces do not transfer. The pack follows the stages BTP's own pages describe; the content is ours.

SJT Scenarios by Measure

BTP says its SJT measures decision-making, integrity, teamwork, communication and professionalism. Each pack scenario is tagged with one or two of them, so you can drill your weakest. Counts below are worked out from the pack itself.

Formats and Timings Are Ours

What BTP does not publish

BTP does not publish the number of SJT questions, the response format, the timing or the scoring. It does not publish the video clip length, the writing time or the marking. It does not publish the presentation topic, whether you get it in advance or the interview scoring. Every format and timing in the pack is our practice choice and is labelled as such.

Campaign Deadlines

BTP opens new recruit campaigns by area for a few weeks at a time. When this page was last built these were open:

What the Pack Is Not

  • It is not BTP's material and BTP has not reviewed it.
  • Its scores are practice scores. BTP does not publish a pass mark for any stage.
  • It does not cover eligibility, vetting or the medical. See our eligibility guide and vetting guide.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these BTP's real questions?

No. Every scenario, exercise, topic and interview question in the pack was written by PolicePay. BTP does not publish its SJT questions, its video clips, its presentation topic or its interview questions. It has not reviewed or endorsed this pack. The pack is practice built only on what BTP does publish about each stage.

How much does the BTP Selection Pack cost?

£24.99 for 12 months of access. One payment, nothing renews. It also opens the full BTP presentation practice, which was previously only in the 90-day Mock Interview pass (£39.99).

Does the pack include a real video for the video assessment?

No. We cannot use BTP's clip. Each observation exercise describes a scene line by line and shows it once against a clock, then hides it while you write your account. That trains the same skills BTP says the stage tests: observing, interpreting information and writing a clear factual account.

BTP's Inner London advert mentions an online assessment centre. Is the pack still useful?

BTP's Inner London advert lists an online assessment centre and a final interview. Its role page describes an in-person assessment centre with a 10-minute presentation and an interview. BTP does not say which applies to every 2026/27 campaign. The pack covers both: the presentation practice has an online delivery tip and the interview bank works for either format. Follow your invitation.

Will the pack help me pass?

No product can promise that and we do not publish pass rates. BTP does not publish pass marks for any stage. The pack gives you structured practice and honest self-marking for each stage BTP describes.

Is what I type saved or sent anywhere?

Your observation accounts, checklist ticks and practice scores are saved in this browser only. Nothing you type is sent to us. We record only anonymous counts of exercises started and finished.

Can I use it for a PCSO or Special Constable application?

Yes. BTP's PCSO and Special Constable processes include the same SJT, ability tests, video assessment and an assessment centre with a 10-minute presentation and interview, according to BTP's role pages.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Full refund within 14 days, no reason needed. See our refund policy.
